We have been leading projects and designing systems since 1995 for some of the largest companies in the United States and Canada. We understand what it takes to design a successful system.
One key component is simplicity. Keeping things simple, as a guiding principle, will help initial implementations be successful from the start.
It is our experience that by keeping complexity to a minimum, the users will find the system easier to understand and use. This approach yields applications that are easier to support as well. It is better to add complexity during subsequent phases or in future years.
Over the past 20 years, we have designed and built “lights out” automation systems that maintain Hyperion Essbase environments in such a way that development efforts were streamlined by a factor of three – applications were developed three times faster after implementing our automation system. The automation system made it easier to monitor and maintain the applications in production, but also easier to perform development tasks.
Most of the systems we've developed focus on Oracle’s Hyperion technologies – specifically all aspects of maintaining an Hyperion Essbase and/or Hyperion Planning environment. This includes data loads, calculations, and reporting.
One of our greatest strengths is education. We share what we know in order to build a strong relationship with the client. When a project is finished, it is our hope that the client will be self-sufficient. A successful implementation means we work ourselves out of a job with the hope of getting future work later.

hyperion planning
Hyperion Planning is the leading planning and budgeting tools available for large enterprises.
We have been designing and developing Planning implementations since 2002 – when Hyperion Planning (Planning version 2.x) became a viable option for enterprise-wide planning.
We have experience building systems for C-level involvement. Corporate-wide planning design must take many differing (and often competing) factors into consideration.
Here is a good example where keeping things simple will ensure a successful implementation.
Underneath the web front end for Hyperion Planning is a Hyperion Essbase database. Essbase excels at decentralized planning. One can design a system that can easily be expanded as a business grows and changes. This is the power of Hyperion Planning.
We work with your team (or help to supply a team) to develop a system that will work for the client. We have extensive experience working with offshore resources as well.
A typical engagement has Bradstreet Business Services working with the end users to design a system that will meet their needs in the time-frame allowed.
Once tasks have been identified, Bradstreet Business Services tackles the more challenging and “at risk” items on the list. We can do all development, but in order for a client-run support team to “own” the application going forward, it is important they have a hand in development. Bradstreet Business Services will help, guide or teach whoever is involved with development.
For those wanting to understand our technical competence, we have been using Planning since version 2.x. We have experience with Planning 2, 3, 4, 9, and now 11 to build P&L planning models as well as separate models for workforce planning and capital planning. We were involved in helping Hyperion learn potential ways to have more than one Plan Type in a Planning application (we chose to do this by partitioning multiple Planning application together), which required a metadata management solution to keep all hierarchies synchronized.
We were also involved in helping Hyperion learn a way to dynamically delete a hierarchy from a Planning application. We have designed and built Planning applications for healthcare, banking and finance, manufacturing, and government for clients based in the United States and Canada.

hyperion essbase
Hyperion Essbase is an excellent option for data analytics. It is a leading multi-dimensional database that Bradstreet Business Services personnel have been using since 1995 (Essbase version 3.x).
A well designed Essbase reporting and analytics system is one that the customer can use without much education. Some clients will only want to access Essbase via the Excel add-ins. Other clients will want to use Oracle’s Business Intelligence suite of products (OBIEE). No matter the requirement, Bradstreet Business Services has the expertise to get the job done.
Essbase projects can involve very complex calculations. The client team that defines the requirements need not worry about this though.
Bradstreet Business Services will bring to the table the know-how to get the job done. In most of the projects we are involved in, we provide mentorship to budding Essbase developers. When time allows, we can help to teach client resources to help build their skills in an “on the job” environment.
For those wanting to understand our technical competence, we have been using Essbase since version 3.x. We have experience with Essbase 3, 5, 7, 9 and now 11 to build both BSO and ASO databases. We have experience with XREF, partitioning, MAXL and ESSCMD scripting, and MDX among others. We have built systems for healthcare, banking and finance, utilities, manufacturing, and government for clients based in the United States and Canada.
